So recently, as I have been blogging, I have mentioned, once or twice, that I am getting married this May 22nd and we have had such a problem with ONE item of printing. The place cards!

I mean, let’s be honest, these are just little cards that tell you where to sit.  They are part of the wedding that is very insignificant, however, if we didn’t have them, there would be chaos as to where people are sitting.

My mom had seen this very neat idea, where the persons name is on a small envelope, and you pull a small piece of paper out from inside with the table number on it.  This allows for a few things.  If there are any changes that need to happen last minute, you are jut replacing the small number card and not having to reprint the whole thing. The second thing it allows for is a different look to the table of place cards, allowing us to break from the norm. (which if you don’t know is very Jess Szymko)

However, to print on these little envelopes, you need a special printer that back feeds, and they don’t make them anymore, so the options are to find someone else who does them…. (and pay approx. $500 to tell people where to sit) to have someone do calligraphy on them (when I know the price I can let you know) OR to go to something more traditional like tent cards, or more modern like a board.

Who knows what we will end up with, but there are lots of options.  What would you prefer to see at a wedding?

These are the standard tent cards you see at most weddings. They sit on a table in alphabetical order for each couple to take their name to know where to sit.

While this isn't exactly what my mom wants, this gives you an idea of what she is looking for. Clean, simple and easy to change!

This is becoming more popular to do, where you list everyone by name alphabetically, & the table number next to the name. Better hope no one forgets where they are sitting though, or there could be a line when entering for dinner to see what you've forgotten
